Hi, I’m CT (Crystal Thompson), the photographer behind Emerald Waters Photography—and I’m so glad you’re here.

I’ve been behind a camera since 2001, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that photography is about so much more than simply taking a picture.

It’s about seeing people.

It’s noticing the little things—the laugh that happens when someone finally relaxes, the personality that comes out when they stop worrying about the camera, the tiny details that make a person them. Those are the moments I’m looking for.

I’m the photographer who will probably get way too excited when the light hits just right. I’ll move you around, try different angles, chase the good light, fix the hair, adjust the pose, and occasionally make a ridiculous noise if that’s what it takes to get a genuine smile. I don’t believe your session should feel stiff, uncomfortable, or like you’re checking off a box on a to-do list. I want you to have fun. I want you to bring your ideas. I want to hear the crazy concept you’ve been afraid to suggest because you think a photographer might say, “That’s too much.”

I want to give you photographs you absolutely love.

Whether we’re photographing a senior getting ready to take on the world, a family trying to freeze time for just a little while, a maternity session, portraits, wildlife, or an adventure that doesn’t fit neatly into a category—I want to create something that feels uniquely yours.

I’m not interested in giving every client the exact same photograph.

I want to photograph YOU.

My style is a mix of genuine moments, thoughtful posing, creativity, beautiful light, and a little bit of controlled caffeinated chaos. I give every session everything I have because I know these photographs wont be sitting on a computer. They’re the photographs you’ll put on your wall. If you’re looking for someone who will listen to your ideas, bring their own creativity, chase the light, make you laugh, and obsess over getting the best image possible—
